Best Air Purifier and Heater Combo

Many people buy a separate space heater and air purifier. Instead of buying both, you can just purchase a heater with an air purifier combo. Don’t spend money on each one individually. Why not buy a dual heating air purifier? Luckily, Dyson and Boneco have rolled out the Dyson Pure Hot + Cool and Boneco Four Seasons FS200. These machines feature a cooling fan, air purifier, and heater. The Boneco even has a humidifier too! These are two of the only air purifier and heater combos on the market and the only ones that should be considered. The heating purifier cleans the air year-round while providing cool air in the summer and hot air in the winter. We have chosen the Dyson Pure Hot + Cool and the best air purifier heater combo on the market, but the Boneco is no slouch.

Best Air Purifier and Heater Combo Reviews

Best Air Purifier Option: Dyson Pure Hot + Cool

The Dyson Pure Hot + Cool looks great and even better, works! It is recognized as the best air purifier with a heater combo on the market and a great investment for improving the comfort of your home.

This 3-in-1 machine provides a heater, cooler, and air purifier all in one. With two carbon filters and a HEPA filter, the Dyson Pure captures viruses, dust, allergens, mold, bacteria, smoke, and odors. Rated to capture pollutants as small as .3 microns with a 99.97% efficiency, your air will feel noticeably cleaner in a short time.

The fan oscillates 350 degrees, which pushes cool or warm air around the room with even distribution. Most combo units are weak in one aspect, usually the heater, but reviews of the Dyson Pure show that the warm air can be felt strongly from as far as eight feet away.

The Dyson Pure has WIFI capabilities, so you will be able to monitor the air quality of your home, as well as change the functions, from your smartphone. With three built-in air quality sensors, you can see real-time data on your indoor and outdoor air quality. You can also get readings on the temperature, humidity, and filter life.

It’s important to note that some customers have had issues with this purifier’s noise level. At higher fan speeds, the air purifier generates an annoying whistling noise. Additionally, the heater does not operate for over 9 hours at a time. Although this is a safety stop, it is never fun having to get up in the middle of the night to turn the heater back on. We suggest turning the heater off then on again right before you get in bed in order to prevent this issue. Finally, this machine is significantly more expensive than its competitors.

The Dyson air purifier, heater, and fan combos are  9.76 x 8.07 x 30.08 inches in size and only 3.15 pounds. The weight of this purifier makes it easy to maneuver around your home.

Pros:

  • Two carbon filters and a HEPA filter
  • Powerful heater
  • Cooling fan
  • 350-degree Oscillation
  • WIFI enabled and smartphone functionality

Cons:

  • Can be noisy at high fan settings
  • Remote has a weak sensor, must be close to the machine
  • Heater shuts off on its own

We were excited to try out this new Dyson model and were not disappointed. Although it has a higher price tag than the two other fans on our list, it comes packed with features that make it a worthwhile purchase. We loved that the fan oscillates 350 degrees and that the air was pushed out the front and the back. Most fans expel air in one direction and with this feature combined with its oscillation range, the entire room was bathed in clean, cool air. Running at the lower settings, the fan is quiet, and it’s not until you get to the max speed that the noise becomes a bit much. Using the heater function, the warm air could be felt from eight feet away, which was reassuring. The ability to monitor the air from our smartphones and control the unit even when we weren’t in the same room was very handy, and if you are willing to spend the money this is a great machine to own.

Best Heater Option: Boneco Air purifier, Heater, Fan & Humidifier

The Boneco 4-in-1 heater air purifier features a true HEPA filter that will capture 99.97% of airborne particles. This means that pollen, dust, mold, smoke, odors, and bacteria/viruses will all be eliminated from the air.

The heating and cooling fan is powerful and can be used effectively in large rooms. The air purifier will circulate all the air in a large room three times in one hour. There are multiple functions and settings on the control panel which allow you to fine-tune the machine to work with your environment. The heater on this fan is especially powerful and will heat a room of ~325 sq. ft. in around 19 minutes.

The humidifier adds steam moisture to the air in your home in addition to the air purifier cleaning it, which is great for dry days, winter nights when your furnace is running full speed, and those who suffer from allergies.

Unlike the Dyson model in our list, there are no sensors that share with you the air quality and no ability to connect it to your smartphone. The trade-off for these features is the price, which is considerably less than the luxury Dyson model.

The Boneco is larger than the Dyson heater air purifier combo at  9 x 25 x 9 inches in size and 10.1 lbs in weight. This makes it more difficult to move around the room. Additionally, the design of the fan is not as appealing as the Dyson. To be honest, this fan is ugly and we suggest hiding it behind a plant or chair.

It’s important to note that some customers have issues with this fan. For example, the air purifier only works on two settings: hot or cold. Therefore, if the air in your house is perfect, you will be either too hot or too cold in order to purifier the air. Additionally, the water reservoir at the bottom of the purifier often leaks. This can ruin the hardwood floor and create a moldy residue on carpets. Finally, the control panel is not user friendly and can be difficult to learn how to properly use.

Pros:

  • A ceramic heater that can warm a large room
  • Air purifier with a HEPA filter
  • Humidifier function to help with dry air
  • Powerful

Cons:

  • Need to run the heat or cool fan in order to purify the air
  • The water reservoir for the humidifier is small, will need to be filled nearly every day
  • To fill the tank you need to remove the HEPA filter, which can get messy
  • Noisy on high settings

We tried out the Boneco 4-in-1 Heater and Air Purifier from our home in Northern California. The humidifier feature was useful and helped with the nights when we had to run the furnace, as the air can get very dry. The cooling fan was more of a personal fan, as it didn’t cool the room so much as the person it was pointed at. The heater was strong and effective and was used when it wasn’t so cold that we needed the furnace. It quickly warmed our detached garage, where there is no heat, and made it bearable to be in there during cold nights. While the air purifier has a HEPA filter, the drawback is that you need to use either a cooling or heater setting, so for temperate days, your room may get a little cooler or a little warmer than you would like.
