Austin Air vs Molekule Reviews

Smoke and gasses could be a trigger for allergies and coughing. Austin Air has developed a home air purifier to deal with these irritants with the HealthMate Standard. It features 780 cubic inches of activated carbon for trapping odors and gas and smoke contaminants. It also features a medical grade True HEPA filter that is capable of trapping contaminants down to 0.3 microns. And on its highest operational setting the Austin Air Standard can purify air in rooms up to 1,500 square feet.

Benefits:

  • Takes in and disperses air in a 360 degree angle
  • Comes with casters which make it easy to roll along the floor

4-stage filtration

The HealthMate Junior is essentially just a smaller version of the HealthMate Standard. It still offers 4-stage filtration (a pre-filter, a medium pre-filter for finer particles, an activated carbon filter and a HEPA filter) but is rated to purify air in smaller rooms. It is about half the weight of the HealthMate Standard at just 24 pounds, and it is more compact.

Benefits:

  • Comes in your choice of either white or black
  • Does not produce harmful ozone
  • Cheaper than the HealthMate Standard

The Molekule Air Purifier is one of the most interesting on the market because instead of relying on HEPA filters, they developed their own photoelectrochemical oxidation filtration technology. The Molekule Air Purifier is their flagship product. It clears the air in rooms up to 600 square feet and breaks down bacteria, viruses, and allergens to the molecular level.

Benefits:

  • It takes in and disperses air in a 30-degree angle
  • Good coverage for large rooms
  • It can be controlled via WiFi and the mobile app

The Molekule Mini is a smaller version of the standard Molekule Air purifier. It stands only 12 inches high which is about half the size of the standard Molekule Air Purifier. But it has 5 different fan speeds as opposed to the three fan speeds of the standard model. And of course, the PECO filter still takes care of allergens, dander, mold, bacteria, and viruses.

Benefits:

  • It weighs only 11 pounds
  • It can be operated via a single top-mounted button
  • Medical-grade polycarbonate frame design

Austin Air vs. Molekule Company Comparison

Austin Air

Austin Air was started 30 years ago. In that time, they have been called upon to provide air filters for organizations like FEMA and have been recognized by a number of leading medical authorities. They are an established company that is committed to making high quality, medical-grade air purifiers. Their purifiers can be found in many top-tier hospitals and medical facilities.

Molekule

Molekule was started in 2014 by a brother and sister duo of engineers. Their father, who now acts as the company’s chief scientist, pioneered the PECO filter technology as a response to his son’s asthma. Today, Molekule air purifiers are sold all around the world. They are definitely an exciting company to keep an eye on and their air purifiers work very well.

Closing Words

In our opinion, all of the products we reviewed in this article can make living with allergies much easier. Although these 2 companies rely on different types of technology to eliminate allergens from the air, in our experience, they both reduce allergic symptoms like sneezing, itchy eyes and even coughing.

But if you want to go with a product that comes from a company that is more established and proven, you would do well with any of the Austin Air purifiers. Molekule is also a great choice if you want a more compact air purifier that sports a more modern design but still reduces allergy symptoms.
